Persepolis Blog One

Persepolis is a very interesting book. During the time of the Islamic revolution it was a law to wear a veil. There was no apparent reason, they were just forced to wear it. Marjane's mother was a demonstrator so she constantly broke the law by not wearing the veil. One day a journalist took a picture of her and put it on the newspaper so she had to disguise herself when she was out of her home so that she would not get in trouble. Marjane wants to be a prophet because she talked to God and she felt that some things weren't right like the maid not eating with the rest of the family. She also read things about Gandi and one of her family members was a prophet too. Castro is the dictator of Cuba. Gondi is a very peacefull person. Marjane and god were like friends because they had lots of conversations. Marjane learns that one of her grandpa's was a prince turned communist. Another of her grandpas was tortured and they were taken away there properts by Shah.

Final Six Word Memoir

                                           Nothing feels better than eating chocolate.
I chose this six word memoir because it is true for me. I think chocolate is the best thing to eat or drink on earth. Every time I get my hands on chocolate it is gone in seconds. One time my parents bought a bag of mini snickers and hid them away. Once they went out somewhere I had a chocolate craving and searched all the house until I found them. Once I found them I grabbed a hand full and stored some for later. The rest of the bag I ate leaving a few so they wouldn't notice. There is not one day I don't get chocolate. It makes you feel happy after you ate a chocolate bar. Anytime I have chocolate I eat it as soon as I get it. It is very satisfying to know that there will always be chocolate all the time.

Whale Rider

          The movie Whale Rider was very interesting.It was also hard to understand certain parts.

I think Pai was not valued in her community and family because she was a girl and her tribe was looking for a new leader that was a boy but her twin brother died. Her grandmother thought it was unfair but her grandfather was still the leader of the tribe. Pucker kicked out Pai because he got in an argument with her father and then he said they had bad luck since she was brought into tha family. Pai's uncle helped her because he felt bad that Pucker left her out of all of the tribes activities. The dying whale symbolizes that there tribe was falling apart. Pucker finally accepted Pai as the new leader because she save the biggest dying whale.Also she took out the whale tooth out of the ocean. The final scene contributes because Pai in the front of the boat singing finally means that she was accepted into their tribe as the leader. Also it means that she was now really a part of them and not just a family member.

Why I like Pizza

             
                     There is lots of people who like pizza, but not one like me. I like pizza because it's tasty, the crust is crunchy, and is a little healthy because it has tomato sauce. Pizza is very delicious. You can get full with a couple of slices but most of us eat almost a whole pizza box like I do. One great thing about pizza is that you can get it in all sorts of flavors. There is Pepperoni, Pineapple, Spicy, and many more. There is even a Oreo pizza at Domino's that I haven't tasted but I think it would be a great dessert. Another great thing about pizza is that it makes a good meal for any time of the day, even breakfast. I like pizza so much that once when everyone in the house was asleep I woke up in the middle of the night to get some left over slices of pizza. Pizza is so great that 94% of people eat pizza regularly. Pizza is one of the greatest foods ever made.
